Larian Studios teased its “hefty” new Patch 6 for Baldur’s Gate 3—and it’s going to get a little steamy, it seems.
On the official Twitter profile, the team announced the new patch coming the week of February 12th, calling it “hefty” and previewing some of the new features. But the main video preview has fans going, showing a sultry kiss between a player character and fan favorite vampire Astarion.
Love is in the air in Faerûn, and we've made improvements to locking lips with your romantic partner!Releasing next week, Patch 6 includes improved smooches, new camp idle animations, new Legendary Actions in Honour Mode, and plenty of bug fixes ??? pic.twitter.com/z0tgqaMaQF

Most interestingly, fans are quite amped about seeing not just a more realistic lip-locking moment, but the taller adventurer even gives Astarion a little forehead kiss after. Aww.
Thankfully, that’s not everything. Larian shared that it’ll also include new Legendary Actions for those playing the hardcore Honour Mode, as well as idle animations for when you’re in your party’s camp and bug fixes. However, if they’re calling it “hefty” in the follow-up tweet, we might be in for a lot more.
As a whole, and to the delight of its players, Larian Studios has shown initiative in fine-tuning the massive Baldur’s Gate 3 with a steady series of patches, even nearly six months after launch. It already spent over three years in an Early Access phase, where players could reach up to Act 2, giving it some degree of polish.
However, with a game as infamously expansive as BG3, more fine-tuning was likely inevitable. In the past, patches have included romance path adjustments, accessibility features, sandbox options, new NPC dialogue, physical indicators from taking up the illithid path, appearance changing, and even an entirely new Epilogue for those with relatively standard endings, in addition to often-necessary bug and balance fixes.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available already on PC, Playstation and Xbox. Unfortunately, if you’re waiting for it to hit your favorite “game pass” service, you shouldn’t hold your breath.
