Swedish band Sabaton has collaborated with tactical action MMORPG Conqueror's Blade to allow for unique content in the game.
Inspired by Swedish King Gustavus Adolphus, a two-week-long Battle Metal event will be taking place from November 21 to December 5. The lead singer of Sabaton, Joakim Broden, has been digitally rendered in-game, with a custom skin for Conqueror’s Blade Warriors available, along with over “200 voice lines fully remade by Joakim Broden himself”, in both English and Swedish.
The Sabaton Rockcrusher, a weapon specifically requested by the lead singer of Sabaton, is available too, with the weapon design being a combination of both a mace and an electric guitar. In order to reflect this, a guitar emote has been created for the weapon which is unique, along with multiple guitar-based sound effects.
There’s also a mini-battle pass available for players who purchase either the aforementioned skin or the pack available with all Sabaton items, which grants access to multiple rewards, several missions, and a Sabaton version of the Emerald Warrior attire. In the blog post announcing the collaboration, it’s explained that the reason behind it is to “celebrate our mutual love for history through different crafts.”
“We chose the song ‘Lion From The North’ [for the trailer] for its deep connection to King Gustavus Adolphus, the inspiration behind our Lionfire Season. Our composer has created a stunning orchestral version of this iconic song, which will be the main soundtrack for the newly renamed ‘Sabaton Fortress’ map.”
