Hades 2, the sequel to Supergiant Games’ wildly successful roguelike, Hades, entered Steam Early Access this week and has already surpassed the concurrent user record of its predecessor on the platform with over 100,000 concurrent users.
For comparison, the first Hades’ all-time concurrent user record sits at 44,642, achieved earlier this week. Prior to that, its highest record was 37,749, dating all the way back to 2020 and just shortly after its full release on Steam.
Hades 2 has undergone three years of active development prior to its launch into Early Access, so don’t let its EA status fool you, the game already has more content than its predecessor ever did. The game’s Steam FAQ states that, “Hades 2 in early access already has more environments, foes, and fully-voiced characters than the full version of the original Hades game.”
Still, with as much content as Hades 2 already has on offer, Supergiant Games says there’s a lot more to work to be done. Expect the game to be in Early Access at least through the end of 2024. No official release date has been given at this time.
Hades 2 is now available in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
