Guild Wars 2's Next Janthir Wilds Update, 'Repentance', Detailed, Along With WvW Improvements, & Push PvP Beta

On March 11th, Guild Wars 2’s Janthir Wilds expansion gets its second update, Repentance. The team revealed more details on Repentance as well as a three-month roadmap, in a new studio update.

Repentance follows the events of Godspawn, and continues exploring some of the mysteries previously unaddressed in the nearly 20 year history of Guild Wars. The update will add a new map, Mistburned Barrens, where secrets of the mursaat will begin to be revealed. Bava Nisos, a ruined mursaat city, inside the Barrens, has lost the ward that was concealing it from the world.  A Mists Gate awaits within. The titans did enter Tyria through a door,  and there’s still a threat to stop.

Expect continued story content to go along with the new map. Additionally, there’s a new Mastery track: Mursaat Shadowcraft. You'll get to use their mysterious shadowy passages. We’ll also see new relics added, new rewards, updated Wizard’s Vault, and more. 

Also coming is challenge mode for the Mount Balrior raid. On March 25th, Ura will be added as a legendary mode encounter. Challenge mode and legendary mode releases will be staggered. The Mount Balrior Convergence gets a new boss option, Greer, the Blightbringer.

Along with the expansion update, March 11th also brings a quality of life change to World vs. World with the addition of a way to quickly see WvW guild membership. On March 25th, WvW get several big changes, including consolidated reward tracks for simplicity and clarity, which also adds improved map-currency acquisition. A new WvW weapon set is on the way, along with some enemy tuning, updated victory points, and more tweaks.

Push PvP gets an update. After the mode was announced, there was a beta late last year to get a feel for demand and feedback. The next beta will run from May 20-26th.

Looking ahead, in April, we’ll get the dungeon rush event and the return of Super Adventure Festival, along with the next skills and balance update. In May, the Return to End of Dragons event and Roller Beetle Racing, will happen, in addition to that Push PvP beta.
