Guild Wars 2 has released its second major update for the Secrets of the Obscure expansion, The Realm of Dreams. With it come new weapon proficiencies for all professions, new legendary relic, a new zone, and the continuation of the fight against the Kryptis threat to Tyria.

This is the second of three planned major updates for the expansion, so the story will continue here in three new chapters, missions, and a new zone to explore, Inner Nayos. Go in search of ways to investigate and prepare to fight back against the Kryptis, as Peitha readies a march forth with her forces too. Earn yourself some new rewards and achievements in the process, through questing or even the brand new Wizard’s Vault rewards. Those include the new Cat Tree Chair, Solar Astrolabe weapon set, and the first part of the Skysage’s Armor set.

The new weapon proficiencies are rightly getting lots of attention. After months in beta and subject to a slew of community feedback, now you can venture out into a whole other build option for every profession. Whether that’s Necromancer with a sword, Revenant with a scepter, or Guardian wielding dual pistols, there’s something for each profession to shake things up a bit.

Also coming in the update is the legendary relic and Tier one Obsidian legendary armor. The legendary relic marks a change for ArenaNet. Going forward, this will work differently than legendary equipment since you need to unlock new relic effects in future expansions in order to use them with the legendary relic.  You'll be able to swap Relic effects because you can equip this legendary relic on all characters on your account simultaneously. Those who had previously upgraded legendary runes had an opportunity to get the legendary relic for free, but now that the update is out,  expansion owners can start to craft it.

Now that the update is live, you'll also be able to fight two new legendary bosses within Convergences, take on the Temple of Fabe Strike Mission Challenge Mode, and  much more.

See more in the announcement over at Guild Wars 2.
