Guild Wars 2: The Mechanist Evolves the Engineer With a New Jade Tech Mech

The Engineer is about to get some pretty impressive new power with the introduction of the Mechanist as its Elite Specialization in Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons.

The Mechanist is in the fight but never alone. Using jade tech, they'll be able to summon their own customizable battle mech to join them in the fray. So in addition to fighting their own ways, they'll be able to command the mech to attack with some powerful attacks that include some blows from mace attacks.

What's more, this battle mech is customizable, so you'll be able to issue commands and select the traits you'll need to load up in order turn your mech into the appropriate melee or ranged combatant to have by your side. Need to help your group that’s loaded up with enough damage dealers? You can select traits that let your mech provide more of a group support role.

While other classes like the other just revealed specialization, the Untamed, also don't fight alone, there's a difference. The engineers have always tinkered and used devices, turrets, and gadgets to get  them to the wins they needed. This seems like a pretty natural progression since flexibility should play a role in making this one a valuable team member.

The next beta event will start on October 26th and will feature the Specter, Untamed, and Mechanist to get your hands on and test out in Tyria. The beta will be open to all Guild Wars 2 players, since the test will take place with test slots in whatever parts of Tyria you have access to already. With two previous tests already done, you can see if one of these new spins on the classes just might fit your playstyle and your future in Guild Wars 2 after End of Dragons is out in February.
