Guild Wars 2 continues previewing the slate of upcoming Expanded Weapon Proficiency and new weapons for all classes. The latest two entries are Rifle Mesmers and the scepter for the Revenant.

When it comes to the Revenant, they’ll be able to wield a scepter in a way that’s unique to their class. In their hands, it will work as a conduit to channel energies in ways that might hurt enemies and help allies. Their autoattack chain will project concentrated energy and they can wield it like a blade to damage enemies and temper this with their skills. First, Serene Strike,  is a melee slice, and the follow-up, Acerbic Cut, gives might to your allies. The third attack in the chain is Motivating Whirl. When used, the Revenant spins and damages enemies in a 360-degree radius, while also applying a barrier to allies.

This new option will let Revenants take a supportive role that still does helpful damage. Another skill, Blossoming Aura, sends Mists energy into an enemy for damage over time. After a time, this explodes, damaging that enemy and also granting a barrier to allies. Otherworldly Bond lets you create a tether between you and an enemy or an ally. Depending on which you choose, You'll grant might to allies around you and your target and vulnerability and extra damage to enemies.

Also in the works is rifle for the Mesmer. They may not sound very compatible, but this is designed for versatility and to be a flexible build option. Skills like Inspiring Imagery letsyou create a beacon for allies that will eventually burst and grant might and fury. If you don’t want to wait, you can also detonate that beacon early with a second skill and it will heal your allies and damage your enemies. Other skills let you open up a singularity with a bullet that you can collapse or use that to create a one-way portal that an ally can use to teleport to your location

It will be a learning process to maximize these new styles, but Guild Wars 2 is holding a beta featuring all of the new weapon and build options from November 28-December 3.
