Guild Wars 2 has had a big week of announcements, and today the team at ArenaNet brought another: the MMO and its host of expansions are now available on the Epic Games Store.

The launch on the new PC storefront marks a new avenue for players to jump into the world of Tyria, with the MMO bringing its base game and all of its expansions along for the ride. The Epic Games Store launch comes just a day after the team announced a new raid for the first time in five years alongside the first content update for Janthir Wilds, Godspawn.

Via the announcement blog:

"Epic Games Store players can dive into the core Guild Wars 2 experience for free, with the same access as free accounts created on GuildWars2.com. And for those ready to dive even deeper, all expansions—Heart of ThornsPath of Fire®End of Dragons®Secrets of the Obscure™, and Janthir Wilds—are available from day one!"

The launch comes alongside a new player event aimed at helping those who hop into the MMO for the first time, with a New Hero Jump Start event, running from November 12th through November 25th. Throughout the event, players can level quickly thanks to bonus experience points as well as take possession of a powerful exotic weapon to help along the way.

The announcement also notes that those who jump into Guild Wars 2 with the Epic Games Store cannot link their accounts to any created through Steam or the official Guild Wars 2 website, and that you can't mix game codes across platforms, meaning if you own content on the official launcher, you'll need to repurchase it on a new account on Epic, and so on. This follows the same account logic that the Steam launch followed a while back, and while it would be nice to eventually see all this incorporated into an overarching account system, at least it's consistent.

Next week, Guild Wars 2 will be seeing its first major update, Godspawn, which adds more story content, a new Convergence and that aforementioned raid.
