Fans of PvP in Guild Wars 2 have a few new things to get excited about, as the developers announce that some big changes are on the way.
One of the first things touched on in the live stream was the adjustments being made to the Automated Tournament system, including a new colored title that has been requested by players. Djinn’s Dominion Objective is also getting an overhaul, as not many players seem to interact with it in the state it is currently in.
The number of ATs available daily has been brought down from eight per day to four, and the time that daily ATs will occur based on the region players are in. On top of the time changes comes a new weekly AT, which will take place every Sunday, but the time will depend on the region we are in. For example, in EU regions, the AT event goes live at 17:00 UTC, but for NA it goes live at 20:00 UTC.
In regards to the Automated Tournament updates, there will be a new monthly variety tournament making an appearance, which will take place every second Saturday of the month at 19:00 UTC in both regions. The tournament will alternate between 2x2 and 3v3 modes, and the rewards do include a special title and permanent Champion’s Rest passes for getting first place.
There are plenty more updates and changes coming on July 16th, but we will get the full effect when it launches.
