GTA Online Players Angry With Rockstar After Post-Cheating Character Wipe

That's just the way it is

It looks like cheaters have been dealt with in GTA Online after a recent ban wave from Rockstar, but this has apparently been met with some choice words from players.

The ban wave was in response to an exploit with respect to property trade-ins. In effect, players could have manipulated this trade-in system to illegitimately gain money. Rockstar responded with a full character wipe,

“Players found to be manipulating and abusing Property trade-ins to gain GTA$ illegitimately have had affected characters reset. As part of our ongoing efforts to maintain a healthy game environment for all players, anyone found to be abusing exploits and cheats to illegitimately gain GTA$ and in-game items may be subject to penalties including cash balance adjustments, character resets, suspensions and up to permanent bans as appropriate.”

Naturally, players are angry and are claiming to never play GTA Online ever again and to uninstall the game, like this (former?) player on Twitter,

“Fuck #Gta #GTAOnline all I ever did was take advantage of a shitty little apartment glitch which everyone did. I get banned with character profile all reset and nothing happens to my mates. Played this shit game for years with no real way to earn quick big money and I suddenly”

Some of these players are claiming they were wrongly wiped, while others are just angry. So there we have it folks.

Ta, Polygon.
