Take-Two Interactive recently held its latest quarterly earnings presentation, and in it, CEO Strauss Zelnick assured investors (and fans) that the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise is still on track for its Fall 2025 release.
Grand Theft Auto 6 was officially unveiled to the world last December after its trailer infamously leaked a day ahead of its original release timing, and quickly skyrocketed to one of the most viewed game trailers of all time. The 90-second or so trailer highlighted the upcoming open-world game's setting, bringing players back to Vice City, Rockstar's fictionalized version of Miami, with the release window set for sometime in 2025.
As part of Take-Two's Q2 2025 Investor Report, that 2025 window was whittled down to "Fall 2025," as Zelnick assured those on the call that Rockstar's upcoming epic was still on track to release in that window. On the same call, it was revealed that Grand Theft Auto V, which released back in 2013, has sold 205 million copies, while Red Dead Redemption 2 has seen 67 million copies sold since its release.
During the earnings call, it was noted that Grand Theft Auto Online exceeded expectations, while Take-Two President Karl Slatoff also mentioned that PC players could expect to see some of the much-requested features from the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series console features come to their platform next year.
