Grand Theft Auto Online's latest update adds a new illicit business, the Chop Shop, which allows players to better profit off the stolen vehicles they acquire across Los Santos. The new update also brings new races, robberies, and more to GTAV's online mode.
The Chop Shop's main attraction is just that, a chop shop joining the line-up of illicit businesses players can own and profit from. The new property brings the ability for players to quickly sell off stolen vehicles, or break them down for parts to sell off individually. The shop also unlocks a series of daring robberies to take part in to acquire the vehicles to power the chop shop itself.
It sounds like the robberies aren't simple smash and grab jobs, either, according to the Rockstar Wire post on the new update. Players will need to plan the robbery using their Panning Wall (which reminds me of the Hesit board) and work with one of two new NPCs, Jamal, to plan and execute the robbery.
"Stealing this caliber of car in Los Santos will be no simple feat. Jamal’s operation involves robberies and a weekly rotation of target vehicles that Yusuf is fixing his sights on for his collection. Each robbery entails scoping out some initial intel, completing Preps and new Freemode Tasks, and culminates in a high-speed Finale."
Sounds like a mini-heist, and I'm all here for that. The Chop Shop update also brings an assortment of new vehicles to own, from the Grotti Turismo Omaggio (Super) to a souped-up new SUV that can be further improved using Hao's Special Works on the console versions of Grand Theft Auto Online.
Speaking of console versions, GTA+ members will also get access to a new addition to The Vinewood Club, the Club Garage. This new showroom garage can house up to 100 personal vehicles - a far cry above the standard 10 cars a normal luxury garage can display.
New Drift Races have also arrived with The Chop Shop update, and it seems console players can enjoy new wildlife in GTA Online, something that has been missing since the online mode launched ten years ago. Now if only PC players could catch a glimpse of animal life as well...
