Standing Stone Games has apologized for the unexpected downtime that kept its game worlds out of commission over the weekend. Lord of the Rings Online players can expect a free mount, while DDO players are left with just a few boosts and VIP time.
For The Lord of the Rings Online, players in Tolkien's playground are reaping some pretty cool rewards, as not only will each VIP member receive two days of VIP status for free to cover the days the servers were offline, but also an extension of the Spring Festival. The April Fool's event ran until 3am this morning.
Additionally, players will see a 20% boost to Virtue XP appear in their inventories as well as a free mount from the LotRO store using a coupon code (REWARD2024). This is only available until April 8th, so you'll want to act fast.
For Dungeons & Dragons Online, Standing Stone Games felt a little less generous, with the same VIP time extensions applying for players there, as well as an extension of VIP Daily Gold Rolls till April 26th. However, no free mount is coming, instead DDO players will need to content themselves with a 25% boost to Heroic and Epic XP, Guild Renown, and a +10 Treasure Hunter Boost from April 5th through the 7th.
[Editor's Note: As of the time of writing, the LotRO an DDO Stores are both down, so you'll need to wait to redeem that gift coupon till they are back up.]
Standing Stone Games' stable of games was down all weekend while the company dealt with an outage at its data center. Both games did not come back online until Monday morning. Server outages have plagued both games in the past, including a stretch back in 2020 that saw them down for days.
