Godspawn, Guild Wars 2’s first update for the Janthir Wilds expansion, is now live. You get to continue the story in three new story chapters, acquire a new legendary spear, Klobjarne Geirr, and even take on the game's first new raid in 5 years.
The three next story chapters pick up from the first part of Janthir Wilds. The Tyrian Alliance and Lowland Kodan will work together again to get through when tracking down the titans. Allies will matter. The chapters will take you up Mount Balrior, with new enemies to fight and more to learn about the titans and the dangers at hand.
Take on the new raid, Mount Balrior, with up to 10 players or the new Convergence. The latter is new high-stakes PvE content where you and up to 50 players in total will take on new challenges and several encounters before ultimately facing a reinterpretation of the titan, Decima. The new raid comes after ANet decided to change their release cadence and to more closely link raid content to narrative content. Not only does this let them use the same development resources while they are developing these expansion updates, it also makes it feel more meaningful by tying it to the brand new story content.
The Klobjarne Geirr is the new legendary spear that you'll be able to craft and take advantage of the six different cosmetic styles that let you wield the power of this new spear in a way that fits your personality, character, and playstyle..
Godspawn also includes a new Mastery tier, more relics, new homestead decorations, and a slate of new rewards that include minis, guild decorations, and gear. The Wizard’s Vault also gets its seasonal refresh with a number of new rewards.
To mark the release, Guild Wars 2 is also getting new Twitch Drops. Starting today through November 24th, watch participating streams with a linked Twitch account and earn things like a Festive Hat skin, Snowflake Glider, and Winter Solstice Outfit.
