Fantastic Pixel Castle's upcoming MMO, currently known as Ghost, continues to make steady progress as they waddle along at the early stages of preproduction. While the game is still ramping up development, FPC has already shown off plenty of placeholder models and basic environments and they have already invited testers to jump in and start experimenting with core mechanics.

If you haven't had the time to catch up on Fantastic Pixel Castle's hour long vodcasts, the team has begun condensing some integral bits and pieces along with some gameplay snips on their socials in the form of shorts. Some of the recent developer shorts have highlighted where Ghost stands in 2025, as well as early gameplay featuring some blocky placeholder character models.

Alongside the game’s development updates, the team’s latest vodcast offered a deeper dive into their design philosophy. They touched on progression systems, enemy variety, and how they’re approaching different levels of player growth. While details are still scarce, one small but exciting confirmation came through—fishing will be in the final game. While it's not on the roadmap quite yet, it's certainly a step in the right direction for people who enjoy life-skilling in MMOs.

With regular updates and a transparent look into their process, Ghost is shaping up for an exciting 2025. While it’s still early days, the glimpses of combat, outlook on worldbuilding, and diverse progression philosophy suggests that this is an MMO that’s being carefully built from the ground up with player impressions as their guide. With so much information compacted into their streams it's nice to see curated short form video hitting straight to the heart of what players want to know.
