Dragon’s Dogma 2 is introducing a new vocation in the Trickster and a new video published over at IGN gives us a deep dive into the vocation’s gameplay and mechanics.
A vocation for the pacifists amongst us, the Trickster wields a ceremonial Censer and uses abilities like Suffocating Shroud to cast a wide area of smoke in order to draw enemy attention away from their allies and towards themselves.
The Trickster’s key mechanic is unique skill called Effigial Incense, conjuring a clone to confuse enemies. The clone can be manipulated around the battlefield by the player by teleporting it towards the Trickster.
There are more illusory abilities in the Trickster’s toolkit, too. Tricky Terrace creates false solid ground, allowing the Trickster to deceive enemies into falling into environmental hazards. Visitant Aura allows the Trickster to scout the environment by using an astral projection.
This is a great vocation for party support as well. Abilities such as Aromatic Resurgence can buff the strength of the Trickster’s pawns while Dragon’s Delusion can terrify the Trickster’s foes with the illusion of a powerful dragon.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 releases on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 22, 2024.
