Genshin Impact version 3.6, "A Parade of Providence" arrives on April 12th with the Akademiya Extravaganza event, new playable characters, and a brand new area in Sumeru.

The Akademiya Extravaganza  is the first event of its kind. There will be two main featured events to participate in, including the Wisdom Gala, which features six mini games. Six is the number to represent the six Darshans of the Akademiya, and those games are inspired by the darshan they represent. HoYoverse explains in a release, “For example, Layla's Rtawahist Darshan applies the study of stars to a mini-game involving an astrolabe, in which players control it to form special constellations and light up the stars”.

Layla’s Hangout Quest will also make its debut in 3.6, and there’s a new storyline coming too. This will feature representatives of those six Darshans competing to win the Interdarshan Championship.

Beyond the event, the update will expand the territory to explore, adding a new area. The area is full of wastelands, as a former battlefield during the Khaenri'ah cataclysm. There is an oasis though, and some helpful creatures in the oasis called Pari that will be able to fly you around to get around the new terrain.

It wouldn’t be a big update without new characters and new challenges. There are two new playable characters, Baizhu and Kaveh. Kaveh is an architect, a four-star Dendro Claymore wielder. He’s known as “the Light of Kshahrewar” and can use his powers to set off Dendro cores across the field for effective damage when you need it. Baizhu is a doctor, with Dendro power. True to his profession, he’ll be able to heal the team. His story will feature in the update.

Also in "A Parade of Providence" will be the new Trounce Domain, featuring bosses like Apep, the "Dragon of Verdure,"who once ruled ancient Sumeru. Expect bosses to rotate weekly.
