Recently released open-world RPG Genshin Impact is reportedly on track to gross more than $100 million on all release platforms by the end of October.
The information comes via Niko Partners Analyst, Daniel Ahmad, who Tweeted,
“Based on preliminary data, Genshin Impact is on track to gross more than $100m across all platforms by the end of this month. The game is successful not just in its home market, but also in Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, the US etc... Investment is paying off.”
Ahmad also shared that over 300 people worked on the game over a period of four years with a budget of around $100 million by developer Mihoyo. Ahmad continues, noting the success of Genshin Impact should server as a model for other Chinese studios,
“It certainly requires a ton of investment upfront, and is something MiHoYo could afford due to its success with Honkai Impact 3. It should act as a template for larger Chinese game studios to follow, and Western ones too tbh.”
