The Wizard101 site has been updated with a fun look back at the game's first decade of existence. Senior Producer Leah "Professor Falmea" Ruben begins the letter with a collection of memories of some of the game's most significant milestones over the past ten years including a comparison between Wizard101 at launch and where it is today.
Wizard101 will be launching on Steam in the near future. The game will not be compatible with the standalone version, but most of the same services available at the current time will be available on the Steam version including family accounts, individual accounts, etc. One cool aspect is that all players share the same servers so Steam and standalone players can head out on adventures together!
Wizard101 will be going offline for the next update that is pack to the gills with all sorts of neat things for everyone. Players can look forward to an epic facelift for Wizard City itself from Unicorn Way to Olde Town. Character Creation, Character Selection and the Tutorial will all be updated too. It's not just visuals either, but also includes new sound and music.
You definitely are going to want to head over to the Wizard101 site to check out the holiday offerings up for grabs this year. You can get hold of a Yuletide Pack and a Wooden Skeleton Key for Krampus in Wizard101. In Pirate101, you can take home a Tribal Crew Pack. These are part of KingsIsle's 12 Days of the Spiral event and can be earned by using the code "TisTheSeason" (without quotation marks).
After the Wizard101 maintenance period ends this morning, the game will be updated with the Empyrea Part One content expansion. The first part will see a level cap increase to 125, a maximum gold allowance increase to 500k (at 121+), new gear styles, the Beastman Fight Club Gauntlet, new wandering bosses and, finally, new badges including Beast Basher, Dwarf Dasher and more.
Wizard101 is celebrating its 9th birthday and everyone is invited to come share the fun from today through September 5th. There's a new Birthday Balloons mount available in the Crown Shop as well as some pretty sweet birthday swag from the past including the Gobbler Mount and the 8th Anniversary Gobbler Cake to name a couple.

The Wizard101 Test Realm has reopened and players are invited to check out several new and improved game features. Things players will be testing include: PvP Daily rewards, PvP turn-based tournament mode, PvP rank boosting, new chat channels, chat emojis, a tutorial tip log, Avalon fishing, improvements to the quest log and much more.

KingsIsle is actively involved in a Greenlight campaign on Steam for its mobile title called EverClicker. As part of a Q&A published on the KingsIsle forum, the team answered the question about the possibility that Wizard101 or Pirate101 might end up as part of the Steam portal as well.
