In case you’ve stayed away from the internet for the past week or so, Dune: Awakening’s big beta weekend begins tomorrow. Funcom has shared details on unlock times, content, specs, and more if you’re planning to start a new adventure in the punishing sands of Arrakis.
The beta will start tomorrow and it will unlock in North America at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time /5 a.m. Pacific. Europe will start at 2:00 p.m. CEST. On Monday, May 12th, the beta will end at 5:59 p.m. EDT/ 2:59 p.m. PDT. All regional times are on the new post, which also includes minimum and recommended PC specs.
This week, Funcom shared info in depth about the server structure and the beta weekend content, estimating about 20 to 25 hours of gameplay from the early to early mid game. This beta weekend is different because they’ve raised capacity and there is no NDA, so you can feel free to share anything you want.
At launch, everyone will start fresh, so take risks, try and survive the sandworm (the first time you die, the punishment will be less than subsequent times), learn to build and survive and feel out the world.
In the full post, we get insight on PVE and pvp, emphasis and importance of combat, variety, how the IP plays a role, as well as localization information and more.
If you haven't already gotten beta access, you can also request access on Steam. The Saturday LAN party event will stream on Twitch and offer thousands of keys.
