It’s been a rough year for many studios, and its seems the studio and publisher behind Frostpunk 2 isn’t free from seeing these challenges fast-first, despite the gritty city builder's successful sales.
The good news for 11 Bit, which acts both as a studio of its own games and a publisher for others, is that the well-acclaimed Frostpunk 2 sold 592,000 copies by the end of the year, after only a September release. The original Frostpunk and the narrative war game This War of Mine, also continued to bring in revenue.

“This clearly demonstrates that 11 bit studios creates outstanding games with extended lifespans,” Przemyslaw Marszal, President of the Management Board of the Company, said about this steady revenue.
However, in its latest financial report, 11 Bit reported a 6.90 million Polish zloty profit (about 1.83 million USD), a fairly low margin for the company despite a “sharp increase” in 2024 revenue. This seems to be a multifaceted challenge, due to low performance of games published but not produced by the studio, as well as the cancellation of a game, codenamed “Project 8,” which led to a PLN 48.42 loss.
The studio looks to the future, though, to keep going as strong as possible.
“Certainly, 2024 was a year marked by hard work, significant challenges, and tough business decisions for us," Marszal concluded. "It was also a year of achievements that we are proud of. We experienced failures as well, which we are confident we have learned from. We are entering a new year that we firmly believe will bring notable improvements in both our operational and financial performance.”
11 Bit has DLC coming for Frostpunk 2, a new game called The Alters slated for June in-house, as well as the publishing of Moonlighter 2, the sequel to the popular dungeon-crawler, among others.
