Fractured Online is preparing for its big Endgame Changer update, but the team has hit a few snags. In addition to finding a significant dupe exploit that led to server downtime, they also had a failing server that needed repair.
The updates were shared on the game’s Discord by Dynamite’s CEO Jacopo, who maintains that work continues on the big patch, including the move to open a test server to all. Yet, these obstacles needed to be addressed right away.
In a message shared on Saturday, he says that they “got an emergency call from our game masters about a possible ongoing hacking. As it turns out, the call was correct - we are dealing with a dupe exploit.”
For safety reasons, we must keep servers offline until the exploit is figured out and resolved. A short rollback may take place to fix the damage done”.
As that work continued along with the investigation on the dupe exploit, they also noted that the hard drive for the server that was hosting the continent of Terra in the game was failing. Server downtime continued, as the message was shared at about 1:00 a.m. in Italy, as the team continued to work on a fix, as well as stabilizing the servers with plans to continue work throughout the weekend.
That led them to pause the dupe exploit investigation to tend to the server first. Updates will continue, but the team is working to get everything repaired, investigated, and up and running.
In the meantime, they’re teasing some of the content coming in that Endgame Changer patch–two new rare mounts.
