The open world sandbox MMORPG Fractured Online is finally slated for its full release on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 6am PDT. This milestone marks the end of Dynamight Studios’ seven-year journey filled with a Kickstarter campaign, a Steam Early Access launch, a major hack that destroyed player cities, a player exodus, and the loss of their publisher Gamigo. Dynamight’s perseverance has prevailed as they make their way to launch next month.
Dynamight’s dedicated team of eight has their release date for Fractured Online set in stone according to their latest blog post. The post details the ways that the game has evolved, with some initial design ideas being overhauled and new content added. Despite these changes, the team has expressed that the core vision of the game remains intact. The release will introduce a fresh server named Elysium alongside the existing Genesis server, along with new PvP rules that transition from planet-based to zone-based mechanics. This novel change will ensure players can explore and progress without the constant threat of non-consensual PvP.
New players will also be introduced to a new, comprehensive tutorial, new starting backgrounds, a bunch of new quests, and some additional rewards. The team also added new spells that allow for the direct control of summoned creatures which they believe will help those that prefer a ranged playstyle, but have been fearful of committing to it due to survivability. Development won’t stop at release either. According to the blog there will be substantial end-game content planned with planet Tartaros, as development continues post-release.
Fractured Online is available to purchase now on Steam as part of Early Access. There are currently no plans to change the pricing of the game once the game fully launches, though there are a number of founders packs on the official website for those looking to supplement their gameplay with a VIP subscription or Dynamight Tokens.
