When it comes to choosing your race in an MMORPG, Fractured Online wants to shake things up a little and make the choice deeply meaningful, instead of what can sometimes be more of what you look like, wear, and areas you start in. The Dynamight Studios team has released a look at the game’s three races, who they are, and what choosing each one really means.
When you choose a race in this game, making that choice means a lot. It affects the planet you start on, including the different environments and resources available for you in the early parts of your adventure. it also means what types of abilities, spells, and even crafting skills you'll have access to. this doesn't mean the other ones are completely closed off, but because you're not as attuned, it would take a lot more effort and achievement to skill up. Race choice also affect how your villages and towns look, including the types of buildings you can have and NPCs that you can hire. It also determines what kind of a society you’re from, including which approaches you take to morality. Picking different races also get you different gods and how those Gods may have a role in what you do. And it also affects how other races see you.
The Wildfolk, are bipedal and animal inspired peoples who come from the lush planet of Arboreus. They’re a peaceful, tribal people who prefer druidic magic. They can also morph into the animal they are patterned after for a short time. Humans are curious, inquisitive, and have access to great technological advances. Their society is feudal and they are flexible in their ability to train in combat and magic skills. Humans also have an underside to society, where lawless guilds exist.
Demons, you might guess are the most potentially lawless of the three races. They terrorize other races and are frequently seeking out war and battle. They have a naturally evil alignment and are at home on the planet Tartaros, which was created for them to be relegated to after the Fracture. Demons are actually the race that can travel around most easily, but they have to return to Tartarus after a while as being away from home can debilitate the demons.
