Fractured Online Prepares for launch With Q&A, Future Plans, and New Update

Fractured Online is set to officially launch, complete with a new second server and a number of important changes. Dynamight Studios’ Jacopo held a Q&A to answer questions about what to expect, and the team has a new pre-launch patch too.

The Q&A lasted about an hour and covered a wide range of topics. There won’t be race change tokens, since leveling is faster and making alts  more feasible. Most players will have two character slots, but if you own a Founders pack you will have three.

With the official launch set for tomorrow, the new Summons feature came up. You can only have one active summon of a particular type, though you can open up to five control slots.  The team is looking at potentially adding stronger summons later, So maybe one day you will be summoning a dragon using all five of your control slots. Fixes and balance changes are also coming for summons in PvP zones.

Jacopo  also addresses the changes, which includes abandoning the three announced plants, with their own races and rules, as well as the alignment system. He calls some of these systems flawed but one of the bigger issues was the team's development trajectory and funding trajectory having changed (the separation from previous publisher Gamigo)  meant that they had eight people for most of development and they were a little too ambitious in their ideas for a small team, so they decided to adapt.

We can expect more endgame content like fortresses for PVP players, trials, and lott rebalances. They're working on seasons and rewards. For those who want more PVE content, the team is working on dungeons. They're also working on eventual new skills for existing schools, but have no plans for new schools at this time. They'll also consider city invasions and additional PVE world events but that is a maybe at this time.
