The Fractured Online team has released a new performance and fixes patch that should bring an end to some serious stuttering and movement issues some had been dealing with since the recent engine upgrade.

The Unity 2022 update laid the foundation for more work and improvements to come, but it was also initiated in part to address stability issues that had come with using the old engine. Yesterday, Dynamight shared a message on Discord  to address questions about why the development team had been really silent for a little while. And it had to do with Unity.

A percentage of players, particularly those on older systems, had experienced significant stuttering issues and a slowdown since the engine update. “The team has been working tirelessly to fix this alongside players from the community hence the radio silence,” they said.

The new patch sets some operations that were causing stuttering while moving as they're intended, without having to compromise on graphics or gameplay. They added additional performance improvements that could potentially cause this stuttering when moving, affecting terrain and textures.

The previous engine upgrade and quality of life update also accidentally broke the movement system, and this has also been restored. Additional fixes impact combat, balance, some potential exploits, and even some minor stuff like making The Adventurer’s Task menu  larger and clearer. Buyers that got the game during the recent Steam free play event should also have gotten their appropriate access packs in the game.

There’s also one important addition in this update: the Loot All function is finally here. This is only for Monsters, but it should be a Time Saver and also help those players who are playing on older machines and likely were affected by the stuttering issues. but it will help all players. they're working on a tool that will split the loot when multiple players earned loot rights over the same monsters. If you defeat other players in PvP, however, you'll still have to loot them manually.
