With Fractured Online set to get a free to play relaunch date announcement sometime next week, Dynamight Studios is currently holding the game’s first-ever special event and reworking consumables.

The latest patch opened up Heaven’s Bounty, a new event that offers double Divine Rewards drops from monsters, Corrupted monsters, and for Iridia coins. There’s also, double Divine Favor gains from Gods, and a +50% bonus to gold drops. All of these bonuses are available through October 28th.

Aside from the bonuses, the new patch began some of the reworks we’ll see as the team makes the transition. First up are consumables, which get a dedicated hotbar slot and expand to new categories. Consumables are also now stronger, but have longer cooldowns. There are three types of consumables now: bandages, poisons, and potions. What were called potions are now “elixirs” and some older consumables have since been removed. If you crafted any of the now-removed items, the devs have refunded your materials.

The consumables rework is a full rework, and the team even has a separate document in the patch notes detailing (with charts) the full rework details. There will be some adjustments if you’re playing but most of it should be intuitive with some experience.

There are also some balance changes and a revamp of the armor penetration mechanic. Armor penetration is now more powerful, particularly against heavy armor users and slightly less powerful versus light users. Statuses and abilities that reduce over reduce it the same way by applying armor penetration on your opponent. This, plus the fact that the battlemage armor effect now also works with ranged weapons should shake things up a little bit in competitive play.
