Fractured Online recently held its first public test since going offline earlier this year due to publisher issues, but the team is reflecting on the recent "relaunch pretest" as well as propping up its next major event: the first server war.
The team reflected on some of the issues it faces when the relaunch pretest went live last month, specifically highlighting the login issues players experienced. According to Dynamight Studios, the log in problems were, of all things, related to CPU architecture issues.
"Right at launch, players faced login issues. We figured out those were related to CPU architecture (strange but true) and migrated our dedicated servers to different models the day after, which fixed the problem."
The team states that while the testing was great, it didn't reach the "critical mass" they were looking to stress the servers under, so they say that "more testing of this kind will be needed." The Fractured Online team also highlights some of the feedback on the new mechanics, crafting and more, stating that it was "largely positive." However, Fractured's devs admit that there is still some work to go to address the dearth of end-game PvE and PvP content, so there is still work to be done.
However, the team is gearing up for a major test event, the first of its kind for Fractured Online: Server War. Coming on July 19th, the Server War test throws new players right into the deep end of the pool to test out the end game content. The aim here is to get players testing the end-game combat and content.
"The Server War is a time-limited testing phase in which new characters are thrown directly into the end-game, with free progression and items. Its purpose is to get feedback on the balancing of end-game combat before the full game relaunch, with a special focus on PvP, including city warfare."
Special rules apply to the event, such as there only being one continent available during the test, all characters will start at rank 50 in the testing, and you can respec your toon as many times as you want. The server war will also bring the first test of Alchemy, new Acid spells to play with, and more.
