Fractured Online is now officially out of Early Access. Today’s official launch came with a new server, and a bit of work needed on the existing one.
The new server is called Elysium and it is a completely fresh server that opened today at 1:00 p.m. UTC / 9 a.m. Eastern. That server is ready to go for all who have purchased the game, but the original server, the Legacy server, Genesis, had to be taken temporarily offline for launch.
The Genesis server did get the launch patch early, letting those with accounts already experience some of the new features, but the team chose to go ahead with only the fresh server while they work on improving performance and stability before they go ahead with the multi-server stack.
According to an update on Discord, “This hard choice was due to technical issues with our multi-server stack that came up during stress testing, which are forcing us to launch with the more robust and well-tested single-server stack we've been using so far.”
For those who have characters on the Genesis server, they hope to reopen it within a week. Everything on that server is just simply going to be frozen until it reopens. Dynamight had promised Genesis players would get some rewards for their help testing and participation, and this will still happen. When things are up again, they promise to throw in even more surprises and rewards compared to their original plan now that the server is offline for launch.
For those who do have the game, Elysium is up and running for anyone who wants to go make their mark on the world.
