Fractured Online, fresh off of half a year of closed development and building a new backend, is holding a free play test event to stress the servers and help the Dynamight team to get things ready to restore 24/7 access.
This new playtest phase will begin this Thursday, June 29th at 2:00 p.m. UTC/ 10 a.m. Eastern, and will run through Sunday July 2nd. Everything will be free to access as long as you are a registered user and you won't need to have a founder pack.
This is going to be a stress test, hence inviting all registered users to the party, so the team warns that there will be multiple performance metrics that they will be analyzing and look at to test the backend under heavier loads. Spent months building up the new backend and getting things ready, making a slew of changes to the game in order to improve it, including the terrain, skill system, and a lot more that has changed. If you haven't had a chance to drop in, the doors will be open to all soon.
During the five days of testing that kicked off an official reopening last Thursday, they learned several things and encountered one major load issue that happened in the first hours of the relaunch. Those issues affected logins, and didn’t test in-game load much, so they are throwing as many players as want to join at the servers this week to test the effect of heavier player loads.
Before the free-to-play event, there will be a new patch that fixes some of the bugs that players have encountered during the past few days, and they've offered that a number of those bugs that they are fixing were things like varying server processes affecting transitions from map areas.
