Fractured Online continues recovery from the recent attack that resulted in player cities being deleted. Dynamight Studios’ CEO Jacopo Pietro Gallelli has updated on security measures, backend improvements and continued work.
In a message to the community posted on the game’s Discord, he offered some good news, saying that the team had figured out a way to verify items that were lost for those that moved belongings into a city that was later deleted. It wouldn’t bring back items earned in the 1.5 days they had to roll back, but they’re able to restore what players that did lose items had from launch through the point of the rollback.
They’re starting this process with today’s update, and ask those who are still missing items to be sure they message the GMs to get things sorted. It will take some time to continue working through the remaining issues, but they have been proactive and communicative since the security breach happened.
Should there be any other major issues in the future, they’ve adjusted their systems and figured out how to limit any rollback to an hour’s time. This new setup should also be able to “bring back the whole world and players to the same point in time, so we won't have to go through a complex recovery like this”.
Fractured Online will get a new patch that will continue to restore things and work through remaining issues. As part of the new update set for sometime today, there will be a respec timer reset for all.
The breach has led to Dynamight Studios taking a look at their security measures and already making a number of improvements and working on additional ones.
