Fractured Online is set to return to Steam Early Access soon, and Dynamight Studios has a new update on this and some additional new content.
The new update is called “Roadmap to Early Access” and the Steam Early Access re-release should be back in the next 3-5 weeks, with an exact date coming. They also include new content announcements, as well as their goals for this next phase.
The last part of alchemy, a potion system, is on the way. You'll only be able to drink potions when you are resting (and you’ll be able to rest anywhere via a new hotkey), but consume them for a range of potential bonuses. Using potions comes with a risk, since each one that you have active will increase toxicity, with your levels visible via a new bar on screen. Too much toxicity and your health regeneration takes a hit, but they’re planning to add some talents that can reduce (but not eliminate) toxicity generation.
The Charisma stat is gone and has been replaced by Wisdom, as a more focused, support stat. Those who focus on mana, willpower and spell effects in the schools in your build will want to take note. With this change also comes the new complete post-revamp talent tree. The full list is shared in the update and you can see exactly how things have changed and which stats to focus on for your favored builds.
Enchanting is back for your weapon improvement needs. While the system used to be a pure gold sink, now it is more integrated and will come with a lower cost.
The team is reworking legends, in order to add variety and new mid to end game PVE challenges. These will be summoned or spawned in different ways, and in different quantities. For example, Wandering Legends will spawn as world events and give more rewards than Resident Legends, which always spawn in the same places.
There are new divine rewards, which is a loot change for monsters. Instead of dropping recipes or orbs of proficiency, divine rewards and enchanting dust could be among the rewards. The type is based on how hard that creature is to defeat, so you can bet the legends are going to be particularly rewarding.
In addition to a number of different balance changes and overhauls, they're also updating the NPC City and tutorial with new visuals.
Ultimately, they're taking their time so that they can deliver a finished build that isn't going to be in danger of future wipes.
