Foxhole’s annual update is now live, overhauling and enriching the infantry experience. Siege Camp announced the update details last week along with next year’s Airborne update to give everyone an idea of just how they’re shoring up and evolving their persistent war MMO.

The Infantry update overhauls infantry combat with new mechanics like refined suppression, weapon shouldering, and adding in stamina. Your forces will now be able to counter armor with anti-tank rifles, adding another layer for suppressing your enemy advances.  Overall melee combat is enriched with the new system, letting you charge or slowly battle through the trenches, using quick attacks or charged attacks, blocking, and even knock downs. With the melee combat system come new melee weapons like the Falias Raiding Club. For those who like battling with shotguns, they've also gotten some new mechanics and faction specific variants.

One of the significant changes in this update is to medics. Medics get an expanded role through new mechanics that make ambulances and hospitals a more crucial part of the war. Inside your bunker networks you can now build medical rooms, letting your wounded soldiers recover closer to the front lines. The First Aid Train is another new addition. It is like a field hospital on rail, getting you to the wounded faster so you can treat them more quickly as well.

The update adds a number of other improvements, including new vehicles, custom Infantry loadouts, persistent minefields, and more engaging Infantry battlegrounds. you can also build new facilities to produce and transfer weapons faster. Things like the Infantry Arms Factory and the Small Container train car will support the production line and transfer the weapons you make.

It's a big update and it's only the beginning since it is setting the stage for the eventual expansion of combat on all sides. More details in the full patch notes will help if you're looking to see what's in the update before you jump into Foxhole to support your side.
