We’re going Airborne next year in Siege Camp’s persistent war MMO, Foxhole, but first, the Infantry update will be out this month.
The team announced its next two big major updates during a new dev stream. The studio has continued to expand Foxhole’s combat options and added depth to the mechanics over time. Previous updates have added dynamic weather and taken things from land to sea, and Airborne will add another layer to endure and strategize if you want to secure victory for your side. That update will be out in summer 2025.
But first, we’re getting the Infantry update on November 18th. The team is ready to overhaul infantry combat and improve ground mechanics in Foxhole. The update will make ground combat more tactical and dynamic, adding new suppression mechanics, weapon shouldering, and even adding stamina mechanics to consider. Infantry will also get the opportunity to equip themselves to counter tanks with new anti-tank weaponry.
This should help teams suppress enemy advances. Infantry battlegrounds also get overhauled with the addition of large-scale minefields, ruined fortifications, and additional ways to take cover and to plan your forward approaches.
You'll also be able to fight in close quarters with the new melee combat system that enables charge attacks and blocking. Use new weapons like swords and maces, and even stagger or bleed enemies with a shotgun.
No matter what side you're fighting on, the new expanded role of medics will make gameplay more dynamic. Medics can now transport wounded soldiers from the front lines to recover at hospitals. Build field hospitals inside bunker networks to fortify your medical operations by the trench lines. There are new vehicles in the update, including new tanks and the medical train, which can be used as a mobile field hospital.
Looking towards the future, the Airborne update next summer will expand the war to let players on land, in the air, and at sea all Share the battlefield, expanding the possibilities. Fly new aircraft, including fighters and bombers, have paratroopers drop behind enemy lines to damage and sabotage supply chains and equipment. Ground crews will be responsible to refuel, arm, and prepare aircraft.
To support these changes, Siege Camp is planning a series of upgrades and additions that they'll detail later. Watch the dev stream to see more of what’s on the way.
