The Foxhole team has a new roadmap update, with a look back at what they’ve been working on for the large-scale war MMO and a look ahead into early 2025.
With the new update, they reiterate their previous development plans to go back and refresh some of their past gameplay mechanics and systems that needed an update to work with the game as it is now. This meant that big updates similar to the scale of Naval Warfare would be taking a backseat for a bit while the team brought the other systems up to speed and gave them some polish. There will still be a major update this year, sometime in the winter.
This was how they’ve been working, with update 56 having updates facilities and decay mechanics. Update 57 is coming soon, and it will focus on more work on facilities, refreshing and fine-tuning the weather systems. They’re adding some minor naval content to continue supporting Naval Warfare, along with some minor changes to UI and new player experience. Update 58 is what they're calling a maintenance update, so this means the most pressing balance changes, quality of life issues, and more bug fixes. We might see some minor new content added here, but they haven’t confirmed that just yet.

As for that major update they’re promising, it will be Update 59. They are setting expectations for there to be major features, new major content, and even deeper balance changes, but this year’s annual update will be smaller than Naval Warfare or Inferno. Following this, expect another minor update with balance changes, some more minor content, and updates in early 2025.
Overall, the team is making this update to let everyone know that the work on the mechanics and the bones of Foxhole are intended to shore up the full experience.
“We know there are many other things the community is highly interested in seeing such as changes to infantry gameplay, a review of bunker meta, more QoL, and improvements to moderation systems,” they note, saying that these will all happen within the presented roadmap.
