Foxhole, the MMO that has players participating at all levels of an army during a persistent online war, is taking combat from land to sea with its Naval Warfare update.

Coming on October 26th, Foxhole Naval Warfare adds a new theater to the persistent war that players fight in Foxhole, bringing players on the high seas to shape the future of the MMO. Naval Warfare will feature pretty much every aspect of, well, naval warfare: from beach landings to combat on the seas themselves with player-built fleets of destroyers, gunboats, battleships, and more.

It's not a simple matter of pitting ships against each other, either, as Foxhole developers Seige Camp aim to simulate the real experience of what it was like to walk the decks of these ships during wartime. Players will have to worry about flooding, bailing out compartments during the war, and even deciding whether to shut off the flooded part of the ship from the rest, resulting in issues maneuvering in the lower decks to even impacting the way a ship sails during combat.

Submarines are also at play here, resulting in convoy raiding and even sneakily destroying large enemy vessels to disrupt naval operations.  Island operations in Foxhole: Naval Warfare also plays a role, with players needing to storm the beaches, construct temporary harbors, and support landings with logistics and more to aid in the overall war effort for their side.

Foxhole's Naval Warfare launches on October 26th on Steam, but if you want a glimpse at the new update now, the team at Seige Camp held a live stream on Twitch announcing the new update. Check it out in the embed below. Earlier this year, Philip embedded himself like an old-school war reporter in a Foxhole clan to see what the MMO was all about, being  blown away by the sheer complexity and teamwork involved.
