In a new trailer released by Epic, the developers of Fortnite, fans got to see what appeared to be lightning-like powers that could just be from some of the mythic Gods themselves.

The trailer showed that animals may just be making an appearance once more on the island, and that there are new melee weapons that allow players to use Zeus’s very own bolts of lightning bolts to strike down the opposition. The trailer was extremely short, but there had been previous speculation that Epic would be releasing a season based around the Gods from Greek Mythology.

Since Chapter Five Season Two is finally underway, the speculations and rumors were proven to be correct, as the new locations and weapons show off the power of the Gods.

One of the new locations is Mount Olympus, which is where Zeus resides in Greek mythology, and another is titled Grim Gate, which is basically their version of the Underworld. Upon arriving at Grim Gate, players will be greeted by Cerberus that are guarding the area, which again comes from Gods and Mythology.

As for the new weapons, Zeus’s lightning bolts have been confirmed as a weapon that throws lightning bolts at enemies and targets. The Thunderbolt has a max of three charges and a hefty cooldown between each one, so it may be wise to not just throw them around willy nilly.

The Gatekeeper Shotgun was forged for none other than Cerberus, and it rapid fires three rounds during use. Of course, this being a Shotgun it is more catered to close range attacks, but in order to grab the mythic variant, players will need to roll Cerberus over and take it for themselves.
