Former Blizzard Dev Cashes in Several Codes to Score Almost A Decade of Free Game Time

Microsoft laid off over 1900 Blizzard employees this month, and one employee in particular decided now is the time to cash in on all that free World of Warcraft game-time they accumulated over the years.

As WoW veterans may know, players can purchase game time using tokens with real-life money, but what most players do not know is that one of the company's perks for its employees is free codes to score free game time in World of Warcraft. Former Blizzard dev Adam Holisky decided that since they were one of the people being laid off, it was time to use all of those codes they were given for game time.

The former Blizzard employee posted a screenshot on Twitter that shows they now have enough game time to last them until 2033, which is an absolutely ridiculous amount of free game time to cash in. Now, Holisky goes on to comment on this post to clarify the reason behind this immense number of years to play World of Warcraft for free, stating

“(Free game time is a well known employee benefit, I just never used all the codes I got over the years. It’s nothing sketchy or immoral.)”

One can assume it was because the employee received a few comments about whether or not what they were doing was justified or fair, but the employee clearly earned these rewards and perks, so it is their duty to cash them in when they see fit.
