World of Warcraft's 9.1.5 PTR update features many quality of life updates, but one in particular looks to make one common task much easier for all. Now you will be able to fly while dead. This isn’t a Halloween trick, it’s going to save you some time.
One of the added spells is Weightless Soul, and this lets a dead character fly as a soul through the Shadowlands zones. This will let you get back to your unfortunate corpse and get back into things so much faster.
This new addition does seem to be one of a long list of things that should make the game more user-friendly. Of course, you don't have to fly back to your corpse. You could always run back through terrain and elevators to get there, but if you do want to avail yourself of the time saver, it’s now an option. It also comes with a run speed 100% aura and flight speed increase of 280%.
The rollout of 9.1.5 is large, and there are many aspects to play through and analyze. The flexibility and quality of life additions do seem like they’re trying to give some options that make things friendlier and more flexible. It might not sound like a lot, but even having the option to just fly back to your corpse and be back with your party could feel major if you need to avail yourself of it often enough. But such a change could also help with the ongoing shifts that affect new characters and even the new players that may join in and progression. You might be a little more daring if you know getting back won’t be a total slog.
Thanks to WOWHead for pointing this tip out. It should save folks some time both getting back into the action and also getting back to your party.
