Horror genre fans are no doubt acquainted with the Five Nights at Freddy's series of games, all four of them. Wildly popular, the series is even being made into a film by Warner Bros. Series creator Scott Cawthon is ready to branch out and is taking the setting, if not the game play, to RPGs as he announced on the Five Nights at Freddy's 4 Steam community page yesterday.
Cawthon tells fans that the Five Nights at Freddy's story is finished and that a fifth iteration will not be created. To allay the sorrow of the FNaF community, however, Cawthon continued:
The new game that I'm working on will be called FNAF World. It will not be a horror game, but a role playing game where you create a party using the huge selection of characters from the FNaF games, including the classic, withered, toy, phantom, and nightmare versions. I've been working steadily on characters and hope to start on enemy models next week. FNAF World will be released on PC, Android, and iOS. I don't have an estimated release date yet since the game is still early in development.
