Five Minute MMORPG

Posted May 10, 2010 by Michael Bitton

Five Minute MMORPG

Have you played Five Minute MMORPG? A new project by the Copenhagen Game Collective boils down the basic elements of an MMORPG into a simple Flash game, with a few twists. In Five Minute MMORPG, you create and name your character, level up (0-80 in five minutes! Woohoo!), and do battle against both computer and other players.

So, where's the twist? Well, they are also simulating lag, ensuring that you're locked in a constant struggle with the effects of lag as you play. Of course, they advertise this fact in a much more amusing light. Read below for a short rundown of the game's features:

  • Over thirty playable characters
  • Level to 80, in less than five minutes!
  • Tons of loot
  • Simulated lag! Control your avatar in the future!!
  • Hot PvP action
  • Rich, detailed fantasy world, with procedurally-generated lore

Up to 10 players can play at once, so it's not quite  "massive," but still an interesting project nonetheless.

If you'd like to check it out head on over to the game's official website and get started.
