Gaijin Entertainment recently released the War Thunder Content Development Kit for the community to utilize in the creation of new textures for pre-existing vehicles in the game. To date, more than a dozen skins have been submitted to the War Thunder Live, the content sharing platform, for assessment by the development team for possible inclusion in the game. The first skin has been selected and has been added to War Thunder in Update 1.59: Flaming Arrows.

Under the RevShare program, a revenue sharing feature as the name implies, allows players to share profit from the sale of their creation to others.

In update 1.59 (Flaming Arrows), which presented new tanks armed with player guided anti-tank missile weaponry, Gaijin Entertainment introduced the first official aircraft ever created by a War Thunder player. The He-219 – a German night interceptor – was created by Daniil “Joy Division” Zaitsev. Daniil started his creation in the fall of 2014 with very little 3D-modeling experience. Using the Content Development Kit, and accepted into the Revenue Share Partner System, Gaijin decided it was so good and accurate that they included the plane, rather than just the skin.

Players can find the He-219 as a Premium vehicle to the German tree and is available for purchase by Golden Eagles (in-game currency).  After just one week, Gaijin Entertainment cut a check in the sum $5,122 USD to Daniil.

Learn more on the War Thunder Live site and by visiting the War Thunder site to read about the successful deployment of the He 219.
