During Gamescom's Opening Night Live, Blizzard revealed that Warcraft will be getting its first ever direct stream later on this year. This was announced among Blizzard's celebration of the franchise's 30th anniversary, with its library of games honoring Warcraft's legacy.
During Opening Night Live today, Blizzard President Johanna Faries took to the stage to reveal the upcoming news about Warcraft, including the upcoming Warcraft Direct at the end of the year. As the franchise celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, there doesn't seem to be any slowing down of Warcraft as a franchise, as World of Warcraft preps for its tenth expansion. At the same time, Hearthstone continues to pump out updates for its Azeroth-based card game.
While no actual date was set for the Warcraft Direct, we do know that it will take place sometime before the end of the year, with the teams at Blizzard detailing what is next for the franchise.

Meanwhile, we got a glimpse at some of the cross-game celebrations of Warcraft's 30th anniversary, (and World of Warcraft's 20th) with Overwatch 2 celebrating with a new skin for Widowmaker. The new skin will see the sniper don the garb of the Horde's Sylvanas Windrunner, bringing the iconic World of Warcraft character to the world of Overwatch. This new skin is set to release sometime in September.
World of Warcraft is gearing up for its tenth expansion, The War Within, which launches into early access in just two days, with its full release kicking off on August 26th.
