The Bright Star Studios team is highlighting Ember Sword’s recent first beta and and showing off some of what we will see in beta 2.
Participants in the first beta test played for more than 41,000 hours. The team continues to add some new marketplace items to invest in, along with some rewards. They’re also showcasing one of the Ember Sword creators, RestlessHavoc, who offers a sneak peek at the next beta test.
So what's coming in the next beta? Several new gameplay features, including quest boards, trade packs to lug your stuff around and trading posts. There are also vending machines on the way. The vending machines will also let you buy and sell goods. Quest boards will help you track and organize quests, as well as find new stuff to do.

The team will be adding a new weapon, the staff. In addition to a new way to hit your enemies, every weapon will have eight abilities to use. This will apply to the staff but it will also apply to every other weapon, offering up some new ways to battle and to tailor things to your playstyle.
Speaking of enemies to fight, all of those weapon abilities will come in handy when you get to take on a series of new enemies, and new bosses. “Players are more prey than predator” so enter the Gnasher, one of the new monsters. New Elites, Petalshade Guardian and Deathclaw, are coming. Finally, expect two new bosses - Alpha Wolf and Steel Slicer.
These are the new sneak peeks for the second beta. We expect more from Bright Star as we get closer.
