World of Warcraft  is getting mysterious at the end of the month. A new event, Secrets of Azeroth, is on the way, with daily clues to find and secrets to uncover.

The event will begin on August 31st, and there will be clues released daily throughout the event period, ending on September 13th. “Players will be tasked with putting on their thinking caps to uncover who is behind a recent string of artifact thefts through a variety of daily clues”, so there is a bit of a story behind these strange thefts and occurrences. It also seems that this will be a multi-layered event, since it looks like some of the content creators in the community are going to be part of the process too.

“You’ll need to keep your eyes peeled for daily secrets and tantalizing new rumors and even play a little ‘follow the leader’ with some of your favorite community creators to discover some of the secrets Azeroth has to offer.”

While you can play along in real time as the series of clues roll out, the Secrets of Azeroth will remain available for discovery later too. So, while some events pack up and might return another time, or even present one-time opportunities, this isn’t the case here. Not only will any clues you haven’t discovered yet remain, but so will the rewards.

However, with the community creators component, and potential hints or active suggestions, it might come down to being able to access VODs or replays in order to continue to solve the clues.

Either way you choose to play, there are new goodies to add to your collection. The Tricked Out Thinking Cap and Torch of Pyreth, both classified as toys, are some of the items you could get. The new weapon transmog, Titan Key, is here to bring back those Kingdom Hearts memories. Maybe a new pet? Or a mount? Tobias the dog is also on the list, along with Pattie the Alpaca new mount. If you’re looking to arrive in fluffy mountain style, she’s a good choice.

Still like transmog items? There’s also the Deerstalker Hat, perfect for chasing and solving clues.
