Now that we’re just about halfway through the current patch’s cycle, Final Fantasy 14 has dropped 7.15, the continuation of the “Crossroads” update that’s already given us an Alliance Raid and an Ultimate. This one brings a lot more relatively casual update, plus sets the foundation for next week’s Chaotic Alliance Raid.
The biggest highlight of this update to many laid-back players will definitely be the continuation of the Hildibrand storyline, this time titled “Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures.” In our preview shots so far, we’ve had a very cool and confident-looking Hildibrand, except he had a glowing bit in his head? Is it really him?
Crafters and gatherers who’ve done all of the Wachumeqimeqi delivery quests are now entitled to the wrap-up quests for the series. Plus, they can start Custom Deliveries with the lovely Nitowikwe, one of the train engineers in Shaaloani—and yes, this is one of the NPCs you can slap custom clothes onto when you’re done. Female Hrothgar enjoyers, rejoice.
The patch also technically included the new “Chaotic” Alliance Raid featuring the Cloud of Darkness, which allows 24 players to take on a high-level boss, within the data. However, it won’t go live until Christmas Eve at 2:00 a.m. PST, and we can’t really know what it’ll entail since a lot of that data is held in the back end.
In the meantime, we do know there are two chances for bonus rewards: when a player in the duty has yet to do it for the first time, and when it’s tackled during certain time windows. For the time window, there’ll be a bonus indicator in Duty Finder in the form of a little treasure chest icon.
As always, there are also a ton of PvP updates for those who’re fiending it, as usual, as well as the usual bug fixes and even a few more furniture items.
Oh, and also, there’s more fish. It’s probably for Custom Deliveries. Get at ‘em.
