The PC version of Final Fantasy XVI is said to be in its “final stages of optimization” according to comments made by producer Naoki Yoshida to Game Informer earlier this week.
While the team is optimizing the game for PC hardware, Yoshida did do a little expectation setting in the same interview, noting that the PC requirements “are looking to be somewhat high.”
Unfortunately, there still isn’t a release date for the PC version, but players looking to get an idea for how the game will run on their systems should be happy to know that Square Enix plans to release a PC demo ahead of the game’s release.
In the meantime, PlayStation 5 players can play through the game’s first DLC, Echoes of the Fallen, which released late last year. The second DLC, The Rising Tide, is due out sometime this spring.
In our FFXVI review, we said, “Final Fantasy XVI is a tale of loss, sorrow, revenge, and hope. It’s a story that feels human and down to earth, yet still retains the essence of what makes Final Fantasy so great.”
Final Fantasy XVI is available now on the PlayStation 5.
