Over a year since its release on Sony’s PlayStation 5 console, Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XVI has arrived on PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), along with its two post launch DLCs, The Rising Tide and Echoes of the Fallen. The Complete Edition includes the game and both DLC packs at a discount.
Players who purchase the game on PC before October 17 will receive a number of bonus DLC items, including: the Brave Blade weapon, Cait Sith Charm (a Gil boosting accessory), and the “Sixteen Bells” Orchestrion Roll.
For players still on the fence, a demo is also available on PC. The demo includes the game’s opening prologue, totaling roughly two hours of content. Save data from the demo carries over into the full game.
Final Fantasy XVI is a dark fantasy tale following the story of a warrior named Clive Rosfield who has sworn revenge on the Dark Eikon (summon) Ifrit. The DLC Echoes of the Fallen adds additional story content, battles, weapons, and increases the game’s level cap. The Rising Tide DLC offers similar additions, and includes a battle against the legendary Eikon, Leviathan. The DLC also expands the game with new end game content in the form of a wave clear mode called Kairos Gate.
