Square Enix's Final Fantasy XVI has a release date on PC, coming to Steam and the Epic Games Store on September 17th.
We've known that the award-winning RPG would be getting a PC port for a while now, but release timing remained up in the air. The announcement was made this morning, with the surprise launch of the PC version's demo today as well. We've known about the existence of a demo ever since our interview with the developers back at PAX East earlier this year, so it's nice to see that drop the same day as the announcement.

Like the PS5's demo before it, the PC demo for Final Fantasy XVI will also transfer your progress to the full version when it launches next month. Final Fantasy XVI is available in two versions for pre-order: the base game for $49.99, while you can snag the complete edition that includes the post-launch DLCs for $69.99.
Final Fantasy XVI initially launched as a PlayStation 5 exclusive in 2023, developed by the same team behind the award-winning MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV. In our interview with the developers back in March, we learned that the PC version will have a few exclusive goodies for players looking to take advantage of their powerful rigs, including ultra-wide monitor support, better graphical fidelity over the already incredible-looking PS5 version, and higher framerates - assuming your rig can handle it.
We loved the RPG when it was released last year, praising the Kaiju-esque Eikon battles, incredible world-building, and storytelling in our 10/10 review.
