Final Fantasy XIV Under DDoS Attack as Square Enix Looks into Countermeasures

It may be the start of the Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers early access period, but that doesn't mean things are going smoothly. Players have been reporting issues for the last couple of hours and it turns out that FFXIV servers are under DDoS attack. The attacks began at about 12:30 pm Pacific / 3:30 pm Eastern today and Square is looking into countermeasures.

We are currently experiencing technical difficulties due to a DDoS attack. Players may experience the following issues as a result. We are looking into the way attacks are being made and taking countermeasures. More information will be provided as the situation develops. [Date & Time]
